- The best choice is to use a CPU that has an MMU in it. FPU isn't a big
- deal. MMU allows for VMM which is inkeeping with an efficient Amiga
- setup, allowing you to use less RAM. Secondly, put the damn CPU on the
- "PDS" so that it doesn't become DEAD WEIGHT when you upgrade it. Some
- people would actually appreciate the EC040 so you could sell your stock
- CPU as you upgrade.
-
- Let's face it, most A1200 users will want to upgrade sooner or later.
- Computer developments are too swift for people to be content with ancient
- CPUs with low clockspeeds forever--low end or no low end. A hardsoldered
- CPU doesn't make much sense unless it is so slow it is worthless if pulled
- (like the current 14mhz 020s in A1200s or the 7.xmhz 68000s in older
- Amigas). If you go to the bother of putting a decent CPU in there
- (RC030/25 or better) then it's worth it to be able to pull it.
